Nursing Assistant
Assistant nurses care for the sick and injured under the direction of physicians and registered nurses. The Assistant Nurse Diploma program at BOK Academy can help prepare you with the knowledge and skills you need to enter this rewarding career. You’ll learn how to take vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration; collect test samples; and perform routine lab tests. Graduates are eligible and will be prepared to take the NCTVET, HEART and the American Allied Health Association.

Pharmacy Technician
The Pharmacy Technician program provides instruction in how to assist the pharmacist in the packing and distribution of medication.
Students will also study the professional and technical skills necessary for direct employment as a pharmacy technician. A diploma will be awarded upon successful completion of this program. This program prepares students for a position as a pharmacy technician. The course will provide students the basic health care skills students can use as pharmacy technicians.
Each major step of the program will include a project where you put your learning into action and enrich your personal portfolio.
Phlebotomy
Phlebotomy programs teach students to collect, label, prepare and transport blood and other clinical specimens from patients. In this program, you will gain a lot of experience. You will be shown how to draw blood, known as a “stick”.
You will practice sticking skills in the classroom on faculty, staff and fellow students so you are prepared and confident before you begin your externship.
Physiotherapy Aid
Exercise physiology and related fields are exploding, especially given the unwavering interest in sports, along with the continued growth in the numbers of older adults and people who are overweight or obese. The world is discovering exercise is medicine.
This graduate certificate can help you advance your knowledge base in this dynamic field, preparing you to take your career to the next level and capitalize on the growing exercise science, personal training, fitness and Kinesiology industry.
At the completion of this certificate, students will:
- learn the nuances of administering exercise stress tests in healthy and unhealthy populations.
- become proficient in evaluating a person’s overall health prior to beginning of an exercise program and throughout program maintenance.
- Learn how to develop individualized exercise prescriptions to increase and promote physical activity, fitness, strength, endurance, and flexibility to optimize health and meet athletic performance goals.
